I LOVE a good drugstore makeup haul (ok, I love any good shopping haul in general) so expect to see them quite often here! 😉
I went to the drugstore over the weekend to see what would catch my eye. It was the perfect day to take a stroll through the neighborhood and then stroll down the beauty aisles…I had never tried any of these products before, but I am testing them all out and will review them soon for you!
The items in this drugstore makeup haul are:
Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Foundation in the shade 360 Mocha. There have been so many ladies talking about this foundation, so I finally had to pick it up and try it out for myself. This says it’s for normal to oily skin and I paid $7.99 for the bottle.
Maybelline Volum’ Express Pumped Up! Colossal mascara in waterproof 216 Classic Black. I am a big fan of Maybelline mascaras in general, and I know a lot of you are curious about the Colossal formulas. Usually, I go for a darker black shade (in this mascara version, it’s named Glam Black) but I didn’t see it at the store. This was $8.49 when I went.
The Maybelline Superstay Better Skin concealer was $8.99 and I picked up the shade 60 Deep. The Better Skin line is another popular one right now that I keep hearing about. I always like to test concealers, because hiding dark spots and under eye circles is one of the easiest ways to quickly look refreshed!
Another mascara caught my eye, the Maybelline the Falsies Push Up Drama mascara in 304 Blackest Black. I meant to get the waterproof version, I don’t know what happened there 😛 But the pink, red and black packaging was unique on the shelf and I thought this was double ended like one of my old Maybelline favorites. You’ll see in my review that it’s not, but so far, I’m liking this mascara. It was a tad pricey at $9.49 (I know I can find it for less online).
I got so many Maybelline items in this drugstore makeup haul! haha. Maybelline is just such an attractive, modern and stylish brand right now. Do you agree? But I swear I got makeup from other brands, too.
Drugstore makeup haul continued…
Black Radiance Artisan Color baked blush in the shade 8305 Warm Berry was only $4.99, score! I tested this out already, so look forward to a review on it soon.
The e.l.f. studio Waterproof lengthening and volumizing mascara was only $3; low pricing is something I think we all like about e.l.f. I chose the shade black and was curious to see how I would like the long, stick-shaped handle of the wand, as well as the inexpensive formula. Review soon!
In the next few days, I’ll surely swatch and share my thoughts on the Sally Hansen Complete salon manicure nail polish in the color Snowglobe 140. Unfortunately, it was $8.29 (I really wish I caught a sale or coupon) but I wanted a new polish and it looked so pretty.
Maybelline Superstay Better Skin foundation, shade 95 Coconut looked like the closest match to my skintone. It was $11.99 and I like the metallic blue, white and clear packaging color combo. Looks clean and fresh, something I’ll like to use on my skin.
Maybelline Master Contour Kit for $12.99 looked interesting. Contouring is on every beauty lover’s to-do list right now and I figured I’d try it, too. I have swatched this and will share before you know it. Spoiler–I don’t think it will work for me :X
Finally, the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid lipstick in Vivid Violet was $7.99 and I choose it because I thought a dark violet lip would be fun to wear! Also, I haven’t tried any liquid lipsticks yet, let alone matte liquid lipsticks. Everyone else seems to have tried the trend, so this is exciting. I already tested the product, so please stay tuned.
So that’s it for this drugstore makeup haul at a total of $84.21 (not including taxes, ugh). Such damage to the wallet, but such fun, too.
What would you like to see a review on next? Which brand always catches your eye at the drugstore?
note to self: be very careful shopping at that cvs. didn’t get extra bucks because entering phone number to get card benefits didn’t work. not worth it, just order online or go elsewhere! =)
