I am so excited to share my 1st Midori Traveler’s notebook with you.
I chose the brown leather in the regular size (it’s larger than the Passport size, which I like!) and I will talk about the 017 insert in a separate post 🙂 But you know I had to start plumping up my notebook right away!
So what the Midori came with was the cotton satchel, an extra brown band, an extra orange band and an 003 refill. The extra brown band is actually meant to be just decoration, but I ended up using it to bind 2 of my inserts together. More on that later if you’re interested!
Wondering how to clean the Midori Traveler’s notebook? My purchase came with a little instructions/care sheet ↑ I had no white powder on my leather and I love the “oil” smell and don’t want it to fade.
I think that metal detail on the side is a cute touch. Does anyone know what that’s called? A charm? I dunno, but I like it.
There’s a lot of information about the leather that’s made in Thailand; this text is stamped on the back of the notebook. The paper refills are made in Japan, though.
The refill that came with the notebook has blank pages. Let me tell you, the leather and the paper are so soft and smooth. The quality is wonderful!! I have no regrets about the price I paid (and I got a good deal anyway).
Here you can see the design on the first page of the refill; I definitely imagine using the blank space in the frame for a nice deco detail sometime…maybe a picture/favorite quote? And the Midori logo is at the bottom.
Did I mention that the Midori notebook includes a bookmark? It’s a brown piece of string that is held in place by a notch in the bottom of the leather. I’m glad it’s included! Looking at my pictures makes me want to get off of the computer and keep journaling! ;P
There she is with just the 003 refill, before I added the other inserts I purchased ♥ You can see the little bookmark notch I was talking about, too.
Do you like to keep a journal, or scrapbook on the go? Have you tried planning in a Midori/fauxdori?
