Thanks for checking out my Tarte Quench Lip Rescue review!
I purchased the Tarte Quench Lip Rescue balm from Sephora as part of a mini duo set. I am picky about my lip products, so I jumped at the chance to try 2 of the Rainforest of the Sea lip items for less than 10 bucks!
The packaging of the mini version of Lip Rescue is different from the regular size version. The mini is 0.035 oz while the full size is 0.1 oz of product.
But I love the gold foil and pink with seashells on this balm tube 🙂 This mini tube is made of what feels like cardboard and plastic, by the way.
When I twisted the balm up, it shook a bit as if it was loose, which worried me. But so far, it’s perfectly secure in the tube. Whew.
Tarte Quench Lip Rescue review — shade “Nude”
The Nude shade gives my lips a barely-there hint of color and a nice, subtle shine.
There isn’t any taste that will conflict with your food, but there is a light, minty scent that provides a fresh breath feeling 🙂 I like it!
Tarte’s formula feels like it’s not even there, just like a lip balm should feel. I like the way my lips feel hydrated and smooth when I apply this.
Wear and Feel of Quench Lip Rescue
The minty scent fades after a few minutes, the shine tones down to a subtle sheen after 2 hours, and by hour 3 I felt the need to reapply since the moisturizing effect was wearing off. I ate and drank during testing, so not bad for a lip balm, I think!
There is a bit of kisstickiness (TM) (jk). What I mean by this is, if you kiss someone it will feel sticky! lol Or if the wind blows your hair, it might stick to your lips. But other than that, it doesn’t feel sticky or uncomfortable on the lips while you’re wearing it.
Tarte Quench Lip Rescue review — Overall thoughts
- I like the sheer color that makes this easy to apply on the go.
- The scent is nice and the balm is great at making my lips feel moisturized.
- At $19 for a full size version, it’s a little pricey.
- If you’re looking for a nice lip balm that is cruelty-free and made with good ingredients, I recommend that you try this out.
There’s no mineral oil, no parabens and one of the main ingredients is jojoba oil. Here are the other ingredients (and it’s made in Canada):
I also like that the mini is adorably travel/purse friendly ^_^ I just have to throw this pic in here.
Ok, so have you tried the Quench Lip Rescue balm or other Tarte Rainforest of the Sea items yet? They’re on Sephora’s site right now and in stores March 14th! Thanks for reading!
