I’m excited to share my Tarteist Lash Paint mascara review and before and after photo with you today!
I enjoy another mascara by Tarte, so I decided to try out Tarteist Lash Paint which comes in the shade Black. Right now, it’s only available on the Tarte website and it retails for $23. With shipping and tax…oh man, but I just had to try it out for yall ;P There are 7 mL / .23 oz of mascara in the tube, by the way.
The gold artist palette with black paint all over it is a cute packaging idea, I think 🙂 Even the top of the wand handle has a unique slant to it; I always like fun details like that. The mascara was made in Italy and Tarte is a cruelty-free company.
Did I mention that I’m loving the black and gold combo? Anyway, the tube is plastic but has a slightly more luxurious feel to it when I hold it, for some reason. If you’ve tried Tarteist lash paint, do you agree?
I didn’t notice any chemical smell or scent when and the wand bristles are right up my alley.
The brush is slim with short bristles, so I’m able to comfortably coat both my top and bottom lashes with ease. The Tarteist Lash Paint formula is very dark and I noticed that it feels thick, which may be why it quickly helps make lashes look fuller.
Here’s my eyeball with one coat of Tarteist Lash Paint on my top and bottom lashes. I like how the bristles separate my lashes and I love how black and full my lashes look while wearing this. I also tried layering on another coat of mascara (didn’t take a photo, though, I will if you’d like!) and they looked even fuller. I do feel that the thick formula might start feeling heavy after 2 coats of mascara, but I don’t think you need to layer more than 2 coats to get a dramatic look! I always just wear one coat of any mascara, especially for testing purposes 🙂
One eye has one coat of Tarteist Lash Paint and one eye is bare. This is not a waterproof mascara, but I haven’t had any smudging issues or raccoon eyes yet and I’ve been wearing it for a few hours. I will definitely update if I have issues with this mascara at any point.
Here are the Tarteist Lash Paint mascara ingredients. I always like how Tarte products don’t have parabens or mineral oil. They seem to always use quality ingredients that are also deemed safer and more natural to use.
Tarteist Lash Paint mascara review – Overall Thoughts
- Nice small brush head and sturdy wand gives easy application control
- Thick, dark formula does provide volume for my lashes
- No smudging so far!
- A little pricey compared to other similar mascaras
- I like that it’s cruelty-free and made in Italy with good ingredients
I prefer lengthening mascaras for myself and Tarteist Lash Paint is a teensie bit pricey (for reference, their Lights, Camera, Lashes is only $21 for .24 oz of mascara). I don’t plan to repurchase this, but if you want a cruelty-free, mid-priced mascara with better ingredients from a trustworthy brand…and you prefer volumizing formulas, by all means, try it out! 🙂
